COMMENTS: April 4 pair of bluebirds roosting in box April 19 pair starts to build nest April 21 Adults not seen using nesttbox to roost of build nest. April 30 Adults roosting in box again May 9 Female dies inside box between 1:20 and 1:30 AM. Unknown causes but may have broke neck during an attemped predation event. May 10 Removed dead female for analysis. Male continues to build nest. Finds new female that night. May 12 Active nest building continues June 8 All 6 eggs hatch June 25 Female no longer sleeping in box with chicks June 29 One of the young left the nest box. Other 5 remain in box. June 30 3 more young leave the nest box (2 remain) July 1 last 2 young fledge. Box is empty. |
